Closest sound to a Lane Poor

Since acquiring a Lane Poor is pretty much out of the question, does anyone know of a pickup that comes close to that sound?

I've played LP loaded basses and the pickups that have the closest sound to those are the Villex pickups

The Lane Poor company went out of business years ago. They are rare on the used market because players such as myself tend to hang on to them (plus they were a small company to start off with, so not a lot made).

Yes. He was one of the people who made the original Lane Poors.

Doesn't look like he does soapbar style pickups (EMG-40DC style). Anyone know if he'll make one custom to fit in my pickup socket

He says the following on his web site: "Each pickup is hand crafted to your specifications for a truly unique sound". To me that means he'll make one custom to fit in your pickup socket. But, the best way to find out is to ask him.

He will do it if he can get a cover, and I think he can
