compare p bass pickup tone

A Three way-

Assuming a stock P Bass pickup placement, could someone compare the single coil (original type) P Bass pick up to the split, and maybe a J Bass pick up in the same location?

And to try to make the comparison simple, use stock Fender pickups...
Or maybe mod a Jazz bass front to sound like a single coil P Bass?

There's got to be some way to narrow this down....

The upshot is I am thinking about putting a single coil P Bass on my jazz bass in a P Bass location. I have had PJ Basses before, but they were all P basses first, and they all has split P Bass pickups.. This would be going at the other way...
