Hello P&E! I dont usually wander to this part of TB because I usually keep things stock (that and If I tinker around with electronics for too long, something always ends up breaking

). I want to change that after the loss of a sweet bass that I just couldnt enjoy. There was just something that pushed me away form it despite it being probably the best bass Ive owned. It was a creamy yellow, only sold in Japan, and the business section looked like this:

Each of the pickups served a different purpose: bridge pickup acted as the treble, P Pickups acted as the middle, and the neck pickup acted as the bass. It also had separate bass and treble knobs.

(top three knobs are the volumes, bottom two are the bass and treble)
Not only was this thing loud, it sounded great! The neck was throwing me off (thanks Ibanez!) and I was short on cash so I sold it to a fellow TBer. Months later Im looking for that sound again, but its impossible to find another one here or in Japan and it would be cheaper to recreate it in one of my current basses. For example:

I want to do it on my ESP F-205 so:
The higher end version of my ex-bass looked like this:

I want to use EMG's, but all ive got currently are HZ's but Ill probably end up a set of 40's.
Looking at
diagram #4, Is it as easy as adding another middle volume "pot"(not sure the exact name for the structure), connecting it to the neck "pot" and connecting the middle pickup to it, and sticking the BTS/BTC controller between the bridge volume and the output?
I may have just answered my own question...but probably not. I decided to go the EMG Route halfway through this post because it will probably be easier and cheaper. Before I start routing and purchasing, I thought ask. Thanks!
