I've had no luck at all - not at hardware stores, not at electronics stores, not at paint stores. If you find a source, let us all know

I couldn't find it either so I went to Stewart MacDonald. Very good service - quick shipping.

Pony up and get some copper foil and do it right. Available from 3M sellers.

pony up? conductive paint is more expensive than foil, so it is pony down

do it right? conductive paint is as good, if not better, especially in nooks and crannies

Not so. Foil applied and soldered correctly is superior unless the cavity is of such large size or wierd shape (like my Alembic S1) that it's not practical.

that's why I mentionned nooks and crannies..
Also I used to like foil, until the adhesive backing separated from the copper due to the high humidity we have here in the bayou state

There are only a few basses I've ever seen that I couldn't shield easily with foil.

That's why I said soldered. I never glue metal parts together when I want stable conductivity.

ok, man, you are trying to make me look like an idiot, I put copper foil in a Jazz bass cavity, tack a bead of solder in a couple of places where the different parts meet for a good connection, it worked great for about 5-6 years, after that the copper separated from its backing (those few spots of solder held but it did not matter) and shorted the pots. I would never just "glue metal parts together" like you imply.

anyway to the OP, I have seen a very few conductive paint supplies even in the US, if you google shielding or conductive paint, guess who is number one in the results... the only other conductive/shielding paint you see are the small amounts that people use in circuit trace repair and plastic case shielding, and contain metal dust instead of "I believe" carbon for stewmac. And they are much more expensive.

I'm about to buy some more stewmac shielding paint, if I have some leftovers, I'll send you some, how about that? It'll be a couple of weeks though.
