Connecting MEC PU's to Bart NTMB

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all,
I'm adding a new Bart Pre to my Thumb 6 but the wires from the MEC PU's seem to consist of 2 layers of "weaved" wires not a single core.

My question is how do I connect this? Trim the covering of both, combine them together and solder them to the Pre? Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Gerry

Pickups are active, so you have some power connectors.

here's the wiring diagram for a Thumb.

Thanks for the diagram but my question was about how to solder the wires with the 2 layers actually.

Much appreciated.

Normally, the weaved wire is just for earthing, so you solder that to the back of a volume or trim pot, or shielding somewhere. So there's no other "normal" wire coming from either pickup? Maybe if you could post up a picture, someone could help a bit more.

Cheers,

EG
