DELANO PMVC4 FE/M2

I'm in the market for a new P-bass pup with pole pieces level with the housing.

On my 2012 MIA Standard P, the pole pieces stick up out of the housing, and I play fingerstyle right over the pickup. When playing the G string my fingers are constantly getting chewed up by the mags.

So, I found this online and see tons of great reviews and the pole pieces appear to be level with the housing:

Plus they look BadAss with those huge pole pieces.

This kid is rocking them on a youtube vid mounted on a MIM P.

(with drop D tuning)

They sound amazing (to me).

I'm ready to pull the trigger at $132.00 shipped.

Any thoughts on this baby?

Delano makes great pickups!

But, something like a Bartolini would also fix your problem..no poles to get your finger snagged on.

Is it silly of me to suggest simply installing some spacers between the bobbins and the shells?

Well, not silly - just a little late.

I hit the order button already.

I spent a couple hours online and can't find anything negative about these pups except some guy who had "clackity-clack" sounds...and I bet it was in his fingers!

Of 3 different Delano sets I use currently, I confirm their excellent sonic quality. Very even and balanced sound, perfect marriage of modern edge and claasic roundness. Likely candidates for perfect pickups.
