A different idiot question about pots

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I am planning to have Warmoth make me a P/MM body. I want it to be passive and wired vol/vol. I know the MM pup is going to need a 500k pot, but what should I use for the P? 250k? 500k? Can I use one of each? What are the pros and cons of each way? Thanks for your input.

500K pots will be brighter, 250K pots will be darker.
Use whatever values you want.

What effect does 1 meg pot have? Also, audio vs. linear

Are you not installing a tone control?

No, I'm not. I basically want a passive P bass with the option of dialing in some more mids with the MM. Thanks for the responses guys, I must have not typed in the right key words when I ran my search. I'll probably end up doing this around mid summer, and I'll post some pics when I can.
