Dimarzio or vintage alnico P style?

Sign in to disble this ad
Working on a Squier P bass. Do you think a 30 year old Dimarzio P style "high output" pickup would be better, or a Fender vintage alnico style P pickup out of a Highway 1?

Just wanting opinions on these two pickups before I tear into the Squier. Thanks

Depends what you are looking for - the DiMarzio would probably sound warmer - probably more low mids & bottom than the HW1 pup - not to say there's anything wrong with that.

Just depends what you like.
