Dimensions for Vol/Tone p-bass knob

So I decided to go through with my diy bass the cheap way and am thinking of the small things such as the pot knobs. Does anyone have any advice in making these and, more importantly, the dimensions for them? Thanks.

There is no standard dimension or shape for a knob and shafts are different diameter and length. I assume you've got the pot so you have all the info you need to make a knob to fit.

Knobs are cheap. Personally I would pillage and look at some electronic item laying around with knobs before I'd think about making one.

Thanks luknfur. The reason I was attempting to make them is because I have the assignment of constructing the cheapest bass possible then assessing it. Considering I can pick them up for 3 dollars or so, its not really worth it.

Just pay attention to what you buy cause you stand a better chance of getting ones that don't fit than do. If your shafts are split then you've got some leeway on a tight fit by crimping them in. Personally I don't like any knob without a set screw (preferably allen). I had a press-on knob pull the pot shaft out early on and that was the last of press-on experience.

EMG's are my fav's cause they're small, black, have the allen screw, and not hard plastic or metal. But they're for the small diameter shafts.
