Direct Replacements Jazz Pickups

Sign in to disble this ad
I could have swor i just posted this and its completly vanished. if it turns up just ditch this one .....

I'm planning on putting some Dimazio Ultra J's and a Audere Preamp into me Squier VM (Fretted). After doing to searching around on here its came up that the Pickups will not fit directly into the body. what would would have to be done to make them fit? or would it be worth finding a direct replacement? if so what other optins do i have for a bass that is used largly for slap.

Cheers

Dave

Bartolinis and the Audere would make for a killer slap jazz.
You can go here to get an idea of which Barts to use. They also have the size specs.

I got A VM Squire too, let me know how the new setup sounds in comparison to stock. (I run a preamp with a POD XT to add some Compression and eq. The VM Jass seems to like it much better than no pre-amp.

Fender Mexican made jazzes have non standard sized pickups - not sure about the Squier VM.

I've just taken some Model J's out of my Jazz to put Wizard p/u's in ()

Ultra j's are standard MIA size (I have some in a Tokai jazz)

Don't know if this helps

just looking at the specs on the bart pups and a very scruffy ruler on my bass they look like they should fit. i am going to get them off the itnernet because no one around me sells pups. so just for that reason i want to me definite that they will fit as perfect replacements in my squier. any one who has put them in a squier before stand up now!!

Cheers Everyone

Aero Instrument makes PUs for Mexi Jazz Basses. It's a standard model for Aero.
