DIY Bass Preamp Circuits For Actives?

Anyone Know of any? Seems like a natural kind of DIY project to me.

I've been considering upgrading the circuitry in some of my older actives that are pretty noisy/primitive and the aftermarket stuff seems pretty overpriced to me.

Cool schematics. Converting them to usable wiring layouts is challenging for a senile dyslexic, but possible!
