Do Fender Humbuckers Adjust?

Sign in to disble this ad
Okay, noob question: My stock (N7) Fender Deluxe P-Bass has a humbucker in the bridge position. Is this pickup supposed to be height adjustable? I need to raise it to balance it out with the P pickup.

I loosened the screws (thinking it would rise) and nothing happened (other than the pickup got loose). Is there perhaps some foam (or other springy material) underneath that is maybe compressed and needs replacement?

If it isn't adjustable, I suppose I could always adjust the P pickup down to balance everything out.

Yes, it should be height adjustable! I bet the foam underneath is just compressed & needs to be replaced or augmented with more foam.

Thanks, Scotch!

I'll get on that this weekend. I couldn't imagine that it didn't adjust, but didn't have the time to pull it apart. I really like the P pickup where it is. It'll be great to get the humbucker up to where the output matches.
