Do Shaller PUs Go Bad?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've NEVER had a pickup that went bad.. normally any issues are from someone dorking up the bass with a smart uncle.

I have a Schaller Loaded P/J pickup.. active/passive.. 4 conductor wires.. sweep selector unsure of the exact model.

PROBLEM
The P Pickup is faint.. does send sound from a tuning fork.. the J is about 4x louder.

Do pickups really go bad? Or is there a common thing folks do to pickups in the improvement quest?

Thanks for the tenured advance.

Tim
