do you need to solder dimarzio Ultra j pups to the pots?

hi,
Because the Dimarzio Ultra j's are hum cancelling, do you need to solder them to the pots or can you simply attach them to the pot. What about the Aguilar obp-1? Does that need to be soldered or can that be attached to the pots without solder?

thanks,
LA

Always solder, regardless of pickup design. A good solder joint is 1 Gazillion times more reliable than any simple metal-to-metal connection, and has lower resistance. Clips shake loose; metal corrodes (especially when it has an electrical charge applied to it day after day). Solder does neither.

FWIW:

just curious, what do you mean by "attach" them to the pots? Whatever you do you're going to have to solder them to whatever regardless (short of wirenut-like connections).
