Does anyone run a VT Bass into a tube power amp?

I'm starting to think that using my VT bass (as an "always on" preamp) into my tube power amp might be overkill. Does anyone do the same? Is there another preamp without the "tube amp emulation" of the VT Bass that might serve me better?

if it's getting you the sound you like, why would it be overkill? i use a vt into an svt or b-15 all the time.
