Does Bill Lawrence Not Answer Emails?

Sign in to disble this ad
I emailed someone at Wilde pickups (probably someone related to Bill) several weeks ago about the P-46 pickup and never got a response. Has anyone had any luck getting email responses from them or do you have to call? I'm looking at different options for my '82 Fender Walnut P-Bass Special and really want to get some solid information before I buy a bunch of different pickups.

They live in a slightly different time and only reluctantly moved into email / web. I never got an email response from them after several emails. Apparently the best thing to do is call. They would rather spend twenty minutes on the phone than 30 seconds on an email.

lots of small builders are like that.

i suspect it's more a matter of them doing their thing making what they make and not "having time to sit down at a computer and goof off", but being perfectly willing to answer the phone when it rings.

I didn't have that problem when I ordered mine. My email was responded to within a few days, but I have heard that calling them is the best route to go

I emailed them with some questions a few months back and got a very quick response. No complaints here.

They're often not great with emails. Bill's also recovering from cancer, and they're in the middle of a move, so they might have a harder time with emails than usual.

Some senior citizens are allergic to computers. I don't blame them...

I just don't understand the whole deal with advertising an e-mail address and not checking it out.

Several small companies do it, though... A few years ago you couldn't get an email response from Fodera if you were the Pope himself (well, maybe Mike Pope could). Glad things have changed there...

So yeah, call them...

I believe emails are answered by Bill's daughter. I had no issue whenever I emailed. But read from others having trouble.

I suppose it's always good to check what the subject on the mail you're sending is, making it clear...

I didn't get a response to an email query, but was able to talk to Becky when I called (this was several weeks ago). I did get an email to notify me when my pickup was shipped. Looking on their website, yes, it seems they are in the middle of some stuff: Bill recovering from cancer, as mentioned, and a move.
