Does the Cable Make a Difference

Does the cable make a difference in hearing buzz with a J-Bass connected to a bass amp? I'm pretty sure the cable I'm using is shielded. Are there any other differences in cables that would affect buzz?

If you have a high impedance signal, then the LCR of the cable affects the tone in a noticeable way.
Things like buzzing or hum are unrelated to cables though, unless you want to try to argue the difference between braid and foil shielding or such, but it should make very little difference.

All instrument cable is shielded. I've never seen non-shielded guitar cables. Perhaps you are using 1/4" speaker cable?

Cables arent related to buzz unless ultra cheap unshielded homemade type where peep didnst use sheilded cable.

Jazz basses hum if you don't have both pickups on full. Is that the issue? That's normal, unless you have hum canceling pickups.

Are you hearing a "humming" sound or a "buzzing" sound?
Is that sound always on? Or only when fretting some notes?
