Thoughts on this combination?

Chef, I don't think it will work. Audere says that their pre only works with passive pickups, and those EMG's are active, right?

In a wierd kind of way...they have a 9 volt battery and one passive treble roll off tone control.

Yes, that bass is running a passive tone setup. However, the pickups themselves have to have 9 volts to operate. It's just not going to work unfortunately. EDIT, with those pickups

With EMG-HZs yes, with active EMGs no. Active EMGs only match with EMG pre-amps, nothing else. They are low impedance pickups and need 25K pots.

From what i know, i think they do not NEED 25K pots, although that is recommended.

Chef, you may want to try and contact Audere Audio directly with your question. I emailed them just a week ago with the very same question, and although I didn't get an answer that was clear to me (very technical - I'm not smart enough to comprehend..) it didn't sound to me like it was out of the question, at least with a little modification. Something to do with a 'coupling cap,' whatever that even means...

Sorry I'm not being more clear, but I would at least ask Mr. Audere himself. Keep us posted, if you please!

Yessir, thanks!
Dave at Audere wrote me and otld me they do make one that will work, but it doesn't seem to be configured much like the one's everyone raves about.

As it turns out, while I didn't like the EMG solo'd at home much, it sounds really damn good in a live mix. I'm still dying to try an Audere, just gotta fiugre what to put iit in.
