The EMG Bass Test - Videos!

Ok. I have been really intrigued with EMG bass pickups for the past year or so. Because of this I went out and purchased a number of them in order to find 'my combination'. Not only did I try them out live and in the studio, I videoed and recorded the results in the most scientific way I could.

Click on that link to see my results. More videos coming soon.

(By the way, I am in no way linked to EMG or its associated companies. I just love gear and in doing these videos I hope to inform others and help them select their gear better).

Very kind of you to do this, man.

I do wish you'd include a bit more variety in your playing style for these tests, tho (a bit more fingerstyle, walking lines, chords, etc.). In any case, let us know when you get to the TW and CS series!

At the beginning of each sample, which processing is being used? The DC's have a nice aggressive and full tone compared to the HZ's. I'm also surprised how snappy the P is in the bridge position. Have you tried it in the middle/neck? (N/M - found it!)

Last question! - How well does the P in neck mix with DC at bridge? I'm liking those the best.
