emg blend query

hi,
i'm looking for a blend pot for my EMG setup. would any 25k blend pot work?

cos i noticed the blend pot for the BTS and BTC systems from EMG website has a PCB attached to it. what does that do? buffer?

You can use any 25K blend pot.

The PCB board on the EMG supplied blend just helps keep your wiring neat. There is a place to solder all of your grounds and red wires for the p/u battery and preamp.

Blend pots suck. At the central position they only offer 50% of each pickup, and have a tonal drop in the highs. If this is what you want then cool, but as a rock bassist, the idea makes me skin crawl. I much prefer my system of two volume + one tone + one switch.

The switch has down for bridge, middle for both, up for neck. At the middle position you can blend the pickups as per usual on duel volume, but in the up and down position the volume only controls the respective pickup. this gives loads of flexibility and a rock loike interface!
