Anyone have any experience with this? Thinking of replacing the BTS I've got in my Spector. I would like mid control, and this seems to be the way to go.

I was planning on getting a BTS for my spector. Could you please tell me the good/bad things about it?

good (for my needs) - small, prewired, easy instructions, designed to pair with the pickups i'm using, concentric (stacked) tone controls, single volume with blend. reasonable price.

bad - none to speak of prior to install

more to come following install this weekend.

My Spector is the only bass with which I have any experience with the EMG BTS, but I can say I do like it. Mind, you, my bass doesn't have the current BTS system. My bass is rougly 4-8 years old (not sure). The only EQing with it is Bass boost/cut and Treble boost/cut. Very versatile, and both knobs have come in quite handy. I just want to get the BQC because I want a mid knob.

It's passive pups and preamp. I wanted to upgrade the pups too, any recommendations?

Well, I'd say you should get some EMG HZ if they fit. I like them quite a bit, although I may change them as well. Also, I'd say it depends on what kind of sound you're looking for.
