EMG BTC Control with Passive Tone?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello again!

I know the BTC control is a common replacement for a passive tone in a vol/vol/tone setup.

Is it possible to wire the BTC after the tone control so in essence you have vol/vol/tone/stacked BTC, as opposed to ditching the tone control altogether?

Cheers!

Sure, just wire the tone pot ahead of the BTC.

Just follow the EMG schematic for a V/V/T bass, and put the BTC between that and the output.

So the wire that would go to the output jack on the passive setup now goes to the input of the BTC, and the output of the BTC goes to the jack.
