Question EMG Configuration Problem In A Esp.

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone, I am currently running a 35DC at the bridge position and a 35P4 at the neck in my Esp Ltd. B404 SM. And I’d like to mix up my tone little more since I like to switch up my sound as much as possible and I feel that the DC in the bridge just sounds to clear when I play it soloed and that the P4 in the neck just doesn’t have enough punch when soloed as well. Which leaves me using both pickups at all times and using a boss 7 band EQ pedal for sound versatility. This is nice but just doesn’t cut it. So I started researching Emg pickups and finding out little more about my pickups. And I was looking over some pickups and I have a few configurations that I think might help me out. I was thinking of maybe putting a 35TW at the neck position and a 35 CS at the bridge to get that old school sound. But I heard that the 35TW single coil has a greatly noticeable lower output compared to the dual coil mode. Since I heard allot of good things about the punch of the Dual Coil I was thinking of just putting the 35CS at the bridge and just taking the my 35DC and putting it at the neck position. But I'm really not sure of what I'm really doing. So I'm asking for help. In the end I’m just looking for more punch and smoother warmer tone, all at once and with ezzz. I play hard rock in drop tunings and on my free time I play some modern ska and reggae. I need to be versatile. Can anybody help?

Thanks a bunch, Checkers.
