EMG EXB or BTC System Rig- Which is better to use?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

I have an ESP Tom Araya TA-600 bass that has two EMG 35DC in the neck and bridge pup areas. The bass has one master volume, balance control and one master tone. The wiring inside is hardwired and is not using the quick connect system.

The master tone knob doesn't do much and I want something that can add a bit more variety of tones to the bass. Something that has more punch and brightness to the output while allowing me to make adjustments to would be ideal. I am thinking of either installing just an EMG EXB control knob in place of the existing master tone knob or pulling out all the wiring and pots and replacing them with a new EMC BTC system rig.

Does anyone have any experience with using the two? Which would be better to use for this bass? I mostly play rock and heavy metal music.

Thanks!
