Hi!
Help me please to select the right PU for my Hohner B2ADB headless bass. Dunno which one to select of these EMG PUīs: HB, HBCS, or 35CS. My shop doesnīt stock these so delivery times for these are abt. 2 months, as they said. Donīt know how do they compare to each others. Wanna get the best PU for reggae, classic rock, and 60īs Motown sound. I donīt wanna have Fender J bass sound, as Iīll buy that bass later.
Many thanks for your help.

I do have a pair of HBs sitting around that I was going to put into a project that never materialized. Let me know if you might be interested. One is a very old blond one and the other is a new black one.

PS I think the original Steinbergers used the regular HBs. I heard all those styles played on those basses, including Robbie Shakespeare rocking it out with Black Uhuru back in the day. Great sound! Big, fat, deep and clear. Of course, the graphite has a lot to do with this. EMGs will make your bass sound clearer, but the graphite does have an impact on the low end that wood doesn't. |

Thanks! |

I just got an EMG 40CS and 40DC with an EMG Preamp, and it sounds awesome. The preamp allows you to really change your tone (it is a 3 band EQ). I would suggest looking into some of them as well.
