emg hz = passive?

Doesn't show a battery anywhere in the schematic. Pretty sure it's just a passive pickup in the traditional sense.

It's an active preamp with passive pickups.The battery is for the tone controls,many basses are like this.

the pickups can still be passive even if there is a battery in that bass.. all the battery could mean is it has an active preamp. i THINK the hz series is passive..

EMG HZ are passive. No need for a battery.

The Schecter has an active preamp (battery) with passive (HZ) pickups. Just like 90% of the basses on the market.

But it probably wouldnt harm if you went into the passive, i run active basses into the passive input usually

but wouldnt that weaken the signal if i put it into the passive input? i have a 10+ year old amp (peavey tnt 160) and i dont know if putting a possibly high output signal into a low-input input.

why i ask this is because i have a passive bass and thenthe schecter wish is also half passive and half active lol. and when i go between the two basses on stage, i'll need to go to my amp and switch the input jack

I put most of my active basses through the passive input on my amp.Is this ok?The last post made me question this.

From what I know, plugging into active is -15db because active basses are run by a preamp which can be slightly louder than passive basses. (I'm not 100% positive, just my educated guess, if someone can correct me???) I dont plug in an active bass into the passive just to stay safe so I dont blow my amp or whatever.

Try this, if you have a passive bass, plug it into the active and play it, then plug into passive then play it. You will notice a big volume difference. I played my passive Ibanez through the active one time and was wondering why I wasnt loud enough. I finally realized it when I was tearing down my equipment!
