Unhappy Emg hz to a pj sound HELP!

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, I'm looking at picking up a Spector Rebop 4dlx-ex with stock emg 35hz passives with 9 volt active bass and treble tone pump . Now I havent heard this bass so I may like the setup, but I read somewhere on TB if you like the sound of a pj tone that emg makes a pickup in a pj tone but in a soapbox config . I really love the euro lx 4 sound and tone and afraid i'm not going to get that in a rebop so how can I do it? without of course buying a euro lx 4.

EMG 35P for the neck, and EMG 35J for the bridge.

Well, it's more than likely solder and play.

Cables from the Hz EMG's will not work with the Active EMG's. Different cables.

There will be soldering involved, and for best results you'll need volume pots appropriate for active pickups vs the passive ones used with the 35hz's.
