I'm not even close to an expert in this area but I'll attempt to help since no one else has.

EMG JV's are active pickups. They require a 9 volt battery. If you buy them you'll get new pots, a battery clip, and an output jack included with the pickups. You'll have to use the new pots. I don't think the old ones in your Jazz will work. The battery will also have to go in the control cavity. I've never put these in a Jazz but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work out just fine.

Your Jazz will not be passive anymore when you buy them. They are active pickups and require a 9v battery. If you are buying them new, all the components you need should be included (pots, wires, battery harness, etc.).

I have those in my custom assembled jazz. They are indeed active pickups. Depending on what package you buy you should get the pickups, the pots, output jack, and battery clip. All you need to do is remove your current pickups and electronics and install the new electronics. Pretty easy to do imo.

These are great sounding pickups. Love 'em better than the original EMGs. They do have that vintage sound and you can solo the bridge pu without hum.

I had JV's in a couple Jazzes. As previously stated, they are active pickups. They are straight drop-ins for a standard Jazz Bass and come with all the harnesses, pots etc and are a very easy install. They give you a good vintage Jazz Bass sound, vintage look, and no hum.
