Lots of sound clips on YouTube that will give you a sense of the sound. I think they sound great. The bridge pickup is pretty thin by itself (that's where an onboard eq comes in handy) but it does a great job of balancing out the P-pickup when they're both on full.

They sound like a good set of pickups. I have a set and have a hard time getting away from them. I use any type of strings and keep the pickups a good deal away from the strings for a more traditional sound, but you can always put some steel rounds on and move the pickups closer to the strings for a more metal tone.
