EMG soapbars in Flying V
I have just recently got a hold of a Tokai Flying V Bass and wanted to throw some Active EMG soap bars into it.
I just wanted to know if anyone knows what combo (models) you'd have to get to totally remove the current electronics and replace it all with EMG (you'd need two pickups, one neck, one bridge position, then what EMG eq's etc...?)
-Two soap bars currently (one neck, one bridge)
-Volume, Bass and Treble Pots (3 in total)
-Pickup selector switch
I have a Steinberger and Spector with active EMG's now and love the sound, So looking to upgrade this to a worthy contender to gig with.
Any input or ideas would be great, I can install/mod myself I'm pretty confident with that.
I'd do the BTC system...volume, blend and stacked bass/treble, and forget the pickup selector, or maybe install a BQC instead of the BTC, and use the spot where the selector is for a pot if the cavity's big enough to hold the boards. The BQC's great because it has a sweepable mid control on a stacked pot.
