Sign in to disble this ad
hi, i'm new here

i'm going to buy my second t-bird e customize it with EMG pickups

my goal is to have a very aggressive, deep sound (with a lot o noise string when played hardly) .. something like Billy Gould (faith no more) sound

which pickup do u suggest? ..i was thinking at EMG 35DC with BTC system (volume, balance, bass/treble boost) - the basic spector setup

thanks (..and sorry for my english, i'm italian)

Ciao! I don't know if you know the italian bass forum Megabass...

I think that it is a very bad idea to buy a new bass with a tone that is different from what you want and to modify it.

The original tone sound of thunderbird is the opposite of that of the typical bass with EMG PuPs on board, due to the fact that the PUps are VERY different.

No one can say how a thunderbird could sound with EMG's, although basses with EMG's have many point in common tone wise.

You should buy a bas that has sound you like after trying it!

Ciao!
Gianni
