I was wondering, if i just buy the basic kit that consist of Treble and Bass pots only. And i got the volume and blend pot for my bass already, it should be ok? Don't need any special volume or blend pot?

It really depends, the pots are only pots, what is doing the equalizing is the preamp, some of them have the volume and blend as a part of the circuit. It depends on the preamp you choose.

+1 it would be like buying a remote control when you don't have a TV. You need an active preamp that contains the bass and treble circuitry. The pots are just the controls.

Gotcha, I would have to say it depends on the manufacturer. I believe the EMG BTC (Bass/Treble Concentric), for example, will work with your existing volume and blend pots. It replaces your existing tone control. Obviously you will need a 9v battery in there somewhere too

Definitely check with the manufacturer before you plunk down the $$$. Most of them have installation guides you can download from their websites.

You really have to check the manufacturers website to know. As an example, Audere has the blend and volume as a part of the circuit as both pick-ups are buffered separatly before being blended. Aguilar for instance only has the Eq controls as a part of the preamp.
