FWIW:

never looked into them so don't know but a lot of the pup makers will make you anything you want. Delano may make them or perhaps Rio Grande. If not, my guess is Nordstrand (and others who make MM pups) would whip one out.

There have been J's with the large slugs around - Earlier Fender noiseless desinged by John Shur and Shur made similar ones of his own - perhaps identical.

Idk if the dimensions are right, but that's the type of thing you're looking for, I think.

I contacted Nordstrand first. They have a pick-up that would fit but they don't have a cover that fits the bongo.

Same with that delano pickup that screws for the bongo on opposite ends of the pickup.

Casualties of having freak stuff. I'd still like to know why EB made the Bongo duals with a solid tie between the double end screw towers when they could have just used their stock MM housing.

I've got a Bongo but don't remember how they stuck 'em in the housing. Seems MM's are just basically laid in there and doesn't seem like the Bongo were much different. You may be able to remove the existing housing if you find out it will fit around the bobbins of those other pups - if those pups aren't epoxy potted. If the single looks anything like the HB Bongo, I'm surprised it's not HC. Thing doesn't look like a pup at all but some component out of a computer.

You could try tieing in a mute pup to the existing pup. Bart makes a small one for the Ric. I don't think a mute pup takes much. You might ask Carey about that. At least if it doesn't work it should be a separate plug and unplug deal - unless EB crammed the control bay so full of stuff there's no room for anything else. If nothing else if it's an 18v system you may be able to ditch one of the batteries and that would be enough space - at least for a trial run.

EBMM epoxies the pick-ups onto the covers. I guess I could try making my own out of wood put some bondo on top of it then paint it black. That's a lot of work though

I just dug my EB's out of the drawer and the MM has nothing holding the coils in. I stripped scotch tape across the bottom to keep 'em in place. So if EB put anything between the coils and the cover - it didn't amount to much.

The Bongo has what looks like silicon ran along the perimeter of the "coils." I can see between the coils and there's no indication there's any adhesive on top of them. At any rate, my guess is I could run an exacto knife around the perimeter of these coils and drop them out. Of course no desire to find out. Like it fine.

But yeh, even your original inquiry struck me as a bit of a stretch. Pup must squeal like pig.
