Question ESH Owners... a little help!?!

Sign in to disble this ad
A friend loaned me his ESH 4 string Various. This is certainly LOVE At First Feel (I am plotting how to talk him out of it - lol). This bass certainly has many different tones in it too.

Now down to the meat and potatoes... the bass has 4 controls, two pots and two rotary switches.

-Volume
-Tone (treble roll off)
-Mode selector: passive, passive w. Piezo, active, Studio (volume & tone pots bypassed)
-Pickup Selector: Bridge, both PUs parallel, Bridge + Mid Boost, both PUs in series.

The Pup selector switch gets scratchy. If I twist it back and forth, that seems to clear it up for a bit, however, I want to fix this problem. I have taken off the control cavety cover and am finding that the switch has a small PC board soldered on to it.

Any clue on how to fix this little guy's problem or where to find a replacement? I'd love to play this bass live but don't trust it in its current condition.

Thanks,

I think you might want to do a search on the net... I think they've gone under... and are no more...

To quote Ed McMan - "You are correct, Sir!"

I was hoping that someone here on TB might have a clue on how to remedy this switch's problem. Maybe a way to clean it? or just replace it? If replace it, then what switch might be a direct drop in replacement, with some soldering of course.

It's an easy fix and you will not need
any help from ESH for that.
