Ever tried this?

so I have an aggie pre lying around and I got to thinking not throw it in a pedal and use it for all my basses? How many of you have done this?

Very interesting idea, it might work very very cool and imagine how small that pedal could be, basicly u could put it on the cabel, damn u could even use it as an rack pre amp

I've done it with many including NTMB, OBP-3, Fender Deluxe, and Alembic - that come to mind. Haven't used onboard preamps for couple years anyway. See FAQ Dimento's "onboard" preamp experiment.

I've done this with an EMG pre... more noisy, than in the bass...
probably you have more luck!
I used a metal housing, so I think, shielding isn't an issue..
