Ever try to take the cover off a sterling pickup?

The pickup needs cleaned up starting with replacing the cover. Man it was hard just getting it off...

I had to use a hot knife to cut through the epoxy that held the pickup in then it was still hard to get off... I had to destroy the cover plying it off

Use a non-metallic abrasive pad. If you are real handy, they make little pads for a die grinder that would mirror finish those. Then I would put a coat or two of clear lacquer to seal it.

Wow!

Don't use steel wool...you'll just have tiny metal shavings stuck to the magnets that you won't be able to get off.

Naval Jelly to pull out the rust and then the jewelers rouge on a buffing wheel to shine them back up. Dremel, it's a wonder-tool!
