Excellent Noll preamp vendor

Hi:

I've spent alot of time trying to find a compact preamp that runs on one 9V battery and has bass and treble centers at 40Hz and 4KHz, and is boost and cut as well (+/- 15 dB). My search led me to consider the Noll preamp

Noll preamps aren't available in the USA, but many top European luthiers install them (Ritter comes to mind). They also have parametric sytems (3 and 4 band) which are excellent.

Finally, I was able to order from a German vendor:

www.BassParts.de

Rudiger Ziesemann is the contact person, and his website
made it easy (once you clicked the English version). I was
able to pay with Paypal, which converted Euro's to dollars
with no problem. He is extremely friendly and helpful

Price: very competitive, shipping of course is an extra, but when you consider the preamp comes wired and includes pots it's worth it.

I considered Audere (excellent, but careful measurement of my
tiny cavity made it a very tight squeeze), Aguilar OBP-2 (finally played one, the 6.5K treble center doesns't work with my finger style), and OBP-1 (boost only), great preamp, but two 9v batteries and inability to dial in a "cut treble" reggae style

Will post review when preamp is in the bass

wow this post couldnt have come at a better time. im about to order my own Noll from the same vender. Rudy is a cool dude, sounds very nice in his emails and very knowledgable. im getting the 4 band with the stacked pots, hopefully this weekend once i hit payday.

a couple questions:
-will the pots take american made knobs? i know Noll sells their own brand of knobs so i might just get them when i order
-whats the size area the preamp takes up? im doing routing right now for other electronics upgrades so i might as well kill two birds with one stone.

Hi:

The normal pots are only 8mm long I believe, but you can
custom order pots (I got 3/8" shafts to replace an EMG BTC system)
for 10 Euros. The jazz bass sytems are drop-ins

It's a good idea to do your homework and have the exact
dimensions when you email, because returning goods to Germany
would be pricey.

Also, I believe the parametric preamps might require a special
9-pin input jack (or use a standard jack with a mini switch), be
sure to inquire before you order. My two band and the three
band non parametric use 1/4".

Rudiger is a cool dude, he'll take care of you
