Feedback?

Hello, I'm having some problems with my OLP 5er....I got this thing used and it came with basslines in it for $125 which I thought was a pretty sweet deal, however the knob closest to the bridge (I'm guessing it's the tone knob but I'm not certain) has a few problems...for one, the more i turn it clockwise the louder this feedbackish noise gets, when i turn it all the way counter-clockwise there's no noise but its also wicked bassy and it gets muddy....any quick fixes?

Replace pot and cap. Somethings gone wrong with the pot that I rather doubt tuner cleaner would help. Its the tone control btw. Is an easy and inexpensive fix.
