| Let me clarify what I plan to do a little bit.
I have a Schecter currently, I don't like the tone of the EMG 45's on it. I want to replace them with A better pup (and have been looking at Nordstrand). I work with circuit boards and hardware for a living and love building things, so I decided this is the direction I am going to go instead of a new bass, that I would replace the pups and electronics (as I actually like the feel of the Schecter). If I like the combination I go with I am going to alter it slightly and work my hand at building my first bass this fall with some bonus money, which right now I think I will do with Primavera wood for the body, and I haven't decided much else. I have played quite a few different basses and I love the tone you get out of a MM, though I'd like to mellow it out just a touch (I know this can be done with playability as well, but at the core) |
