Fender 50th Anniv. Bad P/U?

So,
I just traded for a 50th anniversary jazz. Arrived Saturday. Tried it out today and find the neck p/u is only outputting at maybe 10%. Bridge p/u and tone control work fine. According to the bassist I traded with, all was working when he shipped it last week. Not really into doing any major repair myself on an expensive bass. Any thoughts?

That's what we're looking into now.
