Fender 60's custom j bass pick ups.. Good idea, bad idea?

I'm thinking of putting some 60's j bass pick ups on my mim fender jazz. I'm looking for a bright sound, with a lot of growl. Will I get a brighter sound from these pick ups? Also how will it affect the value of my bass if I choose to sell it. I have the stock pick ups in their now

everyone i have played my basswood mij 62 reissue have marveled at how much better it sounds with the custom pickups over the stock mij vintage pickups, however i don't mind rocking a thick, round, and warm classic tone which may not be what your looking for, try out an american standard jazz and a 60's classic or roadworn to see if you like their sound and if you do consider those pickups also

They growl, but bright they are not.

I have them in my MIM Fender Jazz.
The biggest noticeable changes will be:

More tonal control: I.e a larger change in tone when adjusting pickup and tones knobs. More sensitivity.

Growl: You will get Growl, oh yes, you will get growl.

Output: A considerably higher amount of output. Not extremely hot, but certainly a nitceable amount compared to stock pick-ups

More Midrange character: Hence the growl

I say get em! I love mine ! Chuck a badass bridge on too, they are wicked as well

I replaced the p'ups in my mid 90's MIM Jazz with those p'ups a couple of years back...what a friggin' difference!

Now I can't pry the damn thing out of my 17 year olds hands....he thinks it's his bass now... I have to admit, he picked it up about 6 months ago and already he can play stuff that I'll never be able to do. Makes me happy and humble at the same time...

I really dont think Fender will EVER put a decent made Pickup or Preamp in thier basses.
Though their basses are untouchable their electronics are horrible.
And its always been like that with Fender.
