Fender '62 J pickups... Copper grounding strip...

How would i go by installing these? do i attach them to the pickups themselves, or do i just ground them to the pots along with the pickups?

Are you talking about the plates under the pickups or the strap from the cavity to the bridge? I think you are asking about the shielding plates under the pickups. They traditionally are wired to the shielding plate in the control cavity and one wire from the that plate to the second pot. The grounding strap is wired to the bottom pickup shielding plate. You can kinda see what I mean in this picture.



The two black wires that go directly to the pots are from the pickup the others are from the pickup plates and connect to the control plate. Hope that helps.
