| Fender '62 reissue P pickup and height

I bought an 08 MIA Fender Precision with a '62 reissue pickup. Searches did not turn up that much info. Can someone tell me the nature of this pup compared to the stock pup? Going through a tube amp and an Avatar 212 and playing with D'Addario chrome flats fingerstyle usually results in a not so articulate and somewhat muddy sound. Not so much when I play with a pick.
So I'm also wondering if the adjustment of the pickup height should be different than a stock pickup.
