Fender active jazz bass wiring question.

Sign in to disble this ad
These jazz basses have four different tone knobs which I now keep completely neutral now that I have the classic ampeg tube head but when I play live I tend to always hit the knobs and knock the settings everywhere.

If I was to cut all the wires except for the volume button would it still sound as if there is no tone at all, which is what I want since I have all my tones set on the amp and not the bass.

Thank you in advance!

A Fender active jazz bass does not have 4 tone knobs. It has 3, plus a volume and a balance.

There is a good chance if you cut the wires, not only will there be no tone but there will be no sound.

Don't do it.
