Fender American Deluxe P-bass distortion/buzzing...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys... A few weeks ago i posted something in the amp section of talkbass over a problem i was having with my rig... Everyonce and awhile i get a static sound (most present on note D)... Everyone in that forum blamed the batteries... I thought for sure it was something to do with my rig... But then i just got a new svt-classic and i can still hear it!!! I dont know if this is a common problem on active bass's for some reason or another.... I have replaced the batteries many times in a row, and it still makes the sound... It however does not constantly make the sound.. Only once and a great while.... I tried hooking in without my wireless and it still made the sound... The only way to get around it is to plug in my passive fender.. Gets rid of the problem, but then theres a $1200 bass collecting dust... What do i do? I hear fender has a lifetime warrenty on all american guitars... I just got this thing last x-mas brand new...

Any help would be most welcome guys....

change the battery!!

but seriously... maybe it's time to open up that sucker and take a look. if you don't know anything about soldering or electronics, then take it to a professional, preferrably a Fender rep. or maybe you're just getting too much sympathetic vibration on that one note from the cab. dunno. but i'd use the passive, as it's better anyways

Change the Fender Pre amp out and put in an Audere Pre. They really are as good as all the hype and a breeze to install.
