What sound change are you looking for?
1. More or less crunch & growl?
2. More bass, mids or treble?
3. More refined hifi or more old school vintage?

Why where you advised to use barts? If this advice wasnt based on the type of sound change your wanting, its worthless advice.

I say one good choice among many would be the '75 reissue pickups. I think there beter than the 60's custom shop in a 70's style Geddy lee bass.

right.

otherwise, there's no answer to this question.

who knows, the stock pickups might be the best thing out there for the sound you're after.
