Fender BG 29 string balance issues....Help

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently acquired a very nice BG 29 bass. The string balance is very bizarre. E and D strings are nice and loud and full sounding but the A and G strings are much lower in volume and seem to be equally low to each other. The bass has a Fishman Classic 4 preamp with a transducer mounted under the saddle. Intonation is near perfect on all strings so I dont think the saddle has been filed down even though string action is very low. What could cause this? I have absolutely no idea what to look for , could there be something amiss with the preamp, transducer? Any help would greatly be appreciated.
