Fender CS 64 Jazz pickups vs. AV 62 Jazz pickups

I did a quick search and didn't see this directly addressed. I've got an AV 62 Jazz and love it, but wondering if there would be anything to gain by installing the CS pickups in it. Anyone done this? Have an opinion either way?

That's a good question. It's not that I'm unhappy at all with the stock pickups, just wondering if the CS pickups would sound better (whatever that means I guess).

So when you say hotter was it just more volume? Or did your tone change/improve?

I have CS 60s in my AM. Standard jazz bass and I'm actually planning on replacing them with AV 62 pickups. Despite both being 60's style pickups, they are different. The CS 60's (they're not actually in most of the CS 64 basses) have more low mids and less high end and high mids than the 62 RI pickups. Since the CS pickups are overwound, it makes them overall darker. The 62's give you more of the agressive upper mids that you expect from a 60's style bass.

Thanks, Anubis, that's good to know. Maybe I should stick with what I've got then.
