fender custom classic jazz bass preamp mod active/pasive possible?

Sign in to disble this ad
hello, before posting I did a search about this and there was a previous post with no final answer.

I have a fender custom classic jazz bass. I would like to put a push pull pot in order to change it into passive if I need to. I would like the balance to keep on working and have a passive tone pot (somethin like new fender deluxe jazz bass preamp with this same features)

I would like to know if It is possible to do this mod to my custom classic jazz bass preamp and how (parts, schematics, instructions)

Thank you very much.

Probably the easiest option is to install a sadowsky preamp but I prefer the tone of my preamp (I would like it to keep on sounding as a fender not as a sadowsky, also I like to be able to cut frecuencies if I want to and sadowsky preamp only adds dont cut)

I think if you can get a deluxe preamp with the active passive there would not be any issue to change the electronics in your CC.And I think its worth to check some website as well.
John East in the UK for example builds fantastic stuff. If you live in Europe you only have to pay for postal cost.
Welcome to east-uk.com, home of the J-Retro and U-Retro Bass Preamps

and here is a quite good demonstration
