Wondering if anybody has swapped out the stock pickups in their MIA Jazz for the Custom Shop 60's??

Was it an improvement??? Not so much???

What changes did you notice??

Thanks

FWIW:

In my experience CS's will sound like CS's no matter what you stick them in - less some very different electronics. Acoustic properities of the bass will alter tone some but it's not going to be enough sound like a different pup. That's not to say all basses with them will sound the same, just recognizeably similar.

My impression of them is in Dimento's J pup experiment in FAQ. I've also had stock MIA J's and CS's were darker and thicker in recall, not what I expected all. CS's I had sounded more like typical JHB's, not singles. The MIA J's are in the same thread so you could compare my impressions through the same rig - maybe the same bass, don't recall but the post will state the acoustic properties of bass.

I've also seen CS's that were very different appearance wise. Some had the purplish formvar winding and mine had the usuall copper looking stuff. Some have tapered poles, some don't. So I don't know if they've changed them over time, if some of them are in deed custom shops (per customer specs like a Frailin), or what.

I thought they were a vast improvement over the stock PUs in my GL. I tried UltraJazzes first, and I didn't have a good experience with those, I heard too much of the JBHB sound, but the CS60s give me a great thick singlecoil sound.
